2008 PNW Chapter's Cle Elum Gathering (con't)

Day 2: (con't)

Scouter Jan must have smelled something funny when he approach Murff from behind as Murff tries to fiddle with the pump (or is it the filler cap that he's trying to vent off some turd smell???)

This is a scene on the Saturday afternoon after our short excursion to Yakima earler: everyone tries to cool off as Scouter Jan feverishly working on his ReadyGlow heater in the background.

After putting on an o-ring acquired from a nearby hardware store, Jan has decided to put on a #21 mantle onto the burner of the ReadyGlow heater to see what happens.
You can tell by the red colour on Jan's bloodshot forehead as he tries pumping up the ReadyGlow.
"Grrr... weather is gonna get cold tonite! Gonna get this baby up and running soon before nite falls...", grumbles as Jan tries to pump this baby up.
Here we have a picture showing Jan with his just lit ReadyGlow mantles as the flame shoots up and charred the reflector bowl...
As the night comes through, the PNWColeman clans gathered around with our PFR/FFR sessions. That's LP's ghostly hands working next to Murff's brown turd, while Dave on the right telling some beer stories.

Owing to the fact that this year's Cle Elum gathering was a bit smaller in scale (less participants), we have less lanterns for the day-two evening lighting event. Nonetheless, our enthusiasm hasn't diminish at all: as you can see, we have the Sunshine Safety lamp that Murff acquired from Yakima early that day (sitting quietly behind the bastardised maroon 220 lanternstein) among the rest of our lanterns. There that dreaded Quest's 220F sitting on the top of the chimney, which also serves as a beacon light for Murff's campsite.

To keep our snack-happy PNWColeman gangs going while sipping ale, TommyC decided to make some Jiffy Pop(popcorns) using Quest's newly acquired 508 stove.
Here we have Scouter Jan making brownies for dessert, with his dutch oven.
With a very relaxed atmosphere, Murff, Carla and Suzanne are enjoying a nice chat with the table lamp running on the background, and a 200A running on the picnic table.
