2008 ICCC - PNW Chapter gathering @ Lacey's Cabela's

Thanks to the cooperative effort of the PNW Chapter's core members such as Murff and Carla, Brent, and uncle Bob Hitchcock's help in organizing the show as well as securing a conference room in the newly opened Cabela's in Lacey, Washington, we hosted our Coleman gathering meeting in the form of a show on Feb 16, 2008. Here's the sign on the 2nd floor of Cabela's (next to the cafeteria):
Here in this picture we have LP, Jules Folgate, Marxman and unca Bob sharing a spot in front of the table lamps we put on display.
We have Tommy C. (on the left) and Marxman (on the right), working together on the time line table arrangement.
This is the other side of the convention room where we have Doug Smith on the left-most side of the picture, ScouterJan in the left-center (with his cap on), Lennie in his blue windbreaker jacket sitting in the middle of the picture, with Tom Wilcox on the far right-corner of the room getting all the last minute Coleman military settings and to the right-most of the picture we have LP's wife Suzanne.
Warren Wright came all the way from West Virginia to Lacey to participate in our group gathering. In this picture we have Warren W. and Murff standing next to each other, taking about the 242 lantern that bears some historical meaning to the owner of the leather pouch (sitting in front of Murff). What is that thing Murff is holding on his hand?!?
Now, in this picture, we have Murff proudly showing off that mysterious piece of cover that came off of a leather pouch kit that was presented from Sheldon Coleman to John O'Connor which subsequently ended up in display by Cabela's. This well-worn leather unit comes with a 242 and a 530 GI pocket stove, with sheet metal lining inside and support for the securing of the lantern and the stove. It has Sheldon Coleman and John O'Connor name inscribed on the top cover of the leather pouch.
Here we have the Canadian Coleman display table. Not only do we have some blue lanterns but also an LPG lanternstein courtesy of LP. There's also a torch on the right-hand corner of the display courtesy of BrentZ.
On this side of the convention room we have a display theme called "camping set up",with stoves, ice chest and various camping related cookery. Also in this picture is a display of Coleman portable ice chests (the one with a penguin icon on the sticker in front of the chest), Griswald waffle pan and lanterns. We also have a couple of Coleman water bags courtesy of unca Bob Hitchcock and a Coleman boating cushion seat from Brent.
Here's a close-up of Jules Folgate's waffle iron and his well-seasoned cast iron frying pan. Apparently, this 2-burner stove has been properly restored by Jules Folgate and it is indeed a beauty!
The water bag to the left is non-Coleman but it's a nice show piece to go along with the "real McCoy" on the right (the one on the right is on loan to Jules Folgate's table straight from unca Bob's collection)
This is also one of Jules Folgate's display of stoves with a portable, foldable Coleman oven.
On the kitchen counter in the convention room, we have a display of Coleman 500 Sportster series, courtesy of Steve Palmer (and his most beautiful porcelain job on the support ) and Murff.
Here we also have a picture showing the 2 earlier iterations of 500 sportster stove. The one of the right is supposedly the oldest by far and according to Murff, it is made in 1941 and bears the title of being the earliest 500 stove in the collection. Best of all: it comes originally in cream colored fount!
Here in this picture, another pair of Coleman Sportster 500 series stoves.
We also have a small Coleman parts display courtesy of Murff. According to him, he bought this during last year's ICCC convention in Tennessee, and he has to fill the rack with Coleman parts just for shows.
Here's a view of some of the Canadian Coleman lanterns on display table.
Here's another view of the Canadian Coleman lantern on display.
Here's a picture of the beginning of the Coleman time line table.
As we move along the timeline table, you can see some 242s and a Coleman handy pail at the back of the picture.
Here is a view from a different angle of the display room. Note that Jeff Maier's boulevard lamp is standing tall on the left-hand corner in the picture.
